Peyton Rice, the exciting and talented rookie from EMERGE who was an undefeated Champion there knew that going into the SCW was going to be a different monster altogether, one that would test her mettle, patience and talent. She understood it wasn’t going top be an easy task, for Peyton though it wasn’t so much about the competition, she lost her first singles match in her career coming out of the gate, since then she had a big win over Scarlet Grey, a woman that had been mocking her mentor, Kelcey Wallace to the point she was even dressing like her. Peyton started to see the ugly side of wrestling. It didn’t help that her father was being showered with gifts by Sienna Swann including a state of the art motorized Wheel Chair what was incredibly efficient and since her father was getting around easier and even had a smile on his face, the last thing she wanted to do was take it from him.
There was also her sister who she hadn’t heard from in weeks, her mother who like her sister was a stranger to the family and would only come around if it fit into her work schedule.
In SCW, Peyton started to feel the pressure, not so much the wrestling or the level of talent, she was well aware that the young Arizona Wildcat could beat anyone in the ring. For Peyton it was more that she just existed. Watching Kandis get TWO Championship opportunities especially against someone like Regan Street caught the eye of Rice, an interview mentioning that and what Kandis said to started to hit home for Peyton….
Was she really cut out for the SCW or were the best days she had behind her in EMERGE?

After what had happened between Kennedy Street, Sienna Swann and Chris Cannon, there were a lot of questions surrounding exactly what his intentions were. Peyton believed in Chris Cannon, the young woman always formed an opinion for herself, she would never follow the crowd, tried to see the best in everyone. It hurt and angered her to see Chris get crucified in the courts of public opinion, much as she wanted to otherwise help him. That was until she showed up at the Cannons home and Kelcey was not there. Nobody was. Peyton called her phone number, there was no answer. She ended up getting back in the car and driving home, worried that something has happened for the young Rice always talks to Kelcey almost everyday even if it is just to check on her and say hi. As she drove home, her phone went off, it was a text from Kelcey and an address. Peyton text back and let her know she was on the way.
When she arrived about an hour later, she walked up to the house and knocked on the door. Kelcey answered, wearing a black and rose imprint maternal dress and flip flops. Her nails polished a baby pink and shoulder length hair hanging down….
Kelcey: “Hey love.”
Peyton: “Hi, so glad to see you, is everything okay?”
Kelcey: “I’m the only one home, come on in.”
As Peyton walked in, she realized it was the home of Trinity and Lucas Knight. She didn’t understand what the reasoning was behind Kelcey being there but nonetheless she followed her in. Peyton was wearing jeans, thong sandals and a University of Arizona t-shirt. Her long hair was slicked back in a ponytail and nails polished white. Kelcey sat down at the table, she was eight months pregnant and it was showing, she looked like twins or triplets were about to be born….
Peyton: “What is going on? Where is Chris? Christian?”
Kelcey: “I’m glad that I caught you. Somethings have happened in the last few days I wish that I had a little more time to have my head wrap around everything love but I can’t. Trinity and Lucas are out, the kids are in school. I needed some time to relax on my own and I think Kennedy is coming over later.”
Peyton: “Kelcey, what is going on?”
Kelcey: “I left Chris.”
Peyton froze, she didn’t know what to say. It was like a ton of bricks just hit her on the side of her head. For Peyton, Kelcey and Chris were family to her, if they hurt, she hurts and for Kelcey it was situation where she didn’t even know where to start….
Peyton: “Why?”
Kelcey: “He’s changed Peyton, I don’t know what the hell is going on in him anymore. What he did to Blake, wasn’t necessary. What he did to Ikiro? Wasn’t necessary. What he did to Kennedy? Wasn’t necessary.”
Peyton: “I would like to believe that was an accident. Chris would never purposely cost Kennedy the match, he reacted, that was it. We both know Chris, you better than me. Why would he ever put the World Championship around the waist of Sienna Swann? That is not like him, Kelcey. It isn’t.”
Kelcey: “I want to believe that but the problem is his temper, his anger, the way he acts these days, what happened to Christian plays a huge part in this but he was screaming at me in the hospital, he had no other venue to air out his frustrations. I want to believe that my husband is more than just some raging lunatic that is out to hurt others. I really do Peyton. And yes, maybe it was an accident, but has he tried to defend himself? Has he even talked to Kennedy or anyone for that matter? No, instead he allows it to continue, even getting ringing endorsements from Sienna and the rest of the Beauty Factory and not ONCE has he denounced it. NOT ONCE.”
Peyton: “There has to be an explanation to this. I can’t see Chris being like that. He promised me that this business would sometimes eat you up alive and he wouldn’t let it happen to me. I know that he wouldn’t Kelcey. I don’t understand this at all? I can’t even fathom the thought he would give Sienna the World Championship even after everything she has done with my father.”
Kelcey’s eyes widen….
Kelcey: “Father? What are you talking about love? IS she showering him with gifts?”
Peyton: “It started off tiny at first, harmless even. Dad is a charmer, you know that. For me, it brought him joy. She bought him a new TV, a new Wheelchair that cost more than a Cadillac. She really buttered him up Kelcey, I was shocked to say the least, I didn’t know that dad was so unhappy, but she brings a smile to his face and…”
Kelcey: “…. Peyton, you need to cut the cord. You have to go up to her and tell Sienna to stop or she will continue and then expect something in return, my guess is your services in the Beauty Factory, you fit their mold, perfectly may I add. That is what’s going on here now love.”
Peyton: “I will… I promise that I will. Chris? I should go talk to him.”
Kelcey: “Right now is not a good time. See him in public, at the arena on Breakdown.”
Peyton: “But….”
Kelcey: “Pey, damn it will you please listen to me, love. I do NOT want you alone with him. I cannot trust Chris right now. He is volatile and a danger.”
Peyton: “What about Christian?”
Kelcey: “He’s fine, I know that Jennifer is going to have him stay with her a few days until we figure things out. Maybe this is just a phase and it will all blow over in due time, that is what I am hoping right now love. I need you trust me on this one, tell Sienna to cut it out and do NOT go see Chris unless you are with someone though I prefer the arena. Can you do that for me?”
She reluctantly nods….
Kelcey: “I know you are upset and this is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life but I have baby coming and I don’t feel comfortable with him around right now until he either goes and gets help or comes back down from whatever cloud he is in. I am hoping he will see the error of his ways. I can see my life without him, at this stage, I will grow old alone until I die from my disease and….”
Peyton: “No!”
She stands up and hugs Kelcey who starts to cry, Peyton can’t hold it back either as they both start to sob. It is a sad day for Peyton, her faith in the good in people is slowly dissipating, she doesn’t know how much longer it will last….
Peyton: “You will never be along, that I can promise you.”
Kelcey: “You are so sweet, the true angel. Peyton, you are too young to be worrying about me and everything else that is going on. I wish that things were different but the SCW is so cutthroat these days, I don’t know what else I can tell you other than never lose who you are, that happened to me once. Never go against your beliefs and most importantly, stay on the path. It doesn’t matter what other people are doing, who is getting title shots, who is being promoted, who gets the air time. The more you go in there and be the respectful young woman that you are? The more they will recognize and appreciate you. The SCW is different, it is Owen Cruze’s time now. He worked hard for this moment and no matter what happens whether he wins or loses is irrelevant. He made it. Just like you will make it into the Main Event scene. Chris, I don’t know what else to say about Chris. Just understand that right now he’s not the man I fell in love with and planned to spend the rest of my life with this baby and him in our happy home. Do me that favor, okay love?”
Peyton: “Yes. I will. I am so angry and upset. I don’t want to be them, Kelcey, I want to be Peyton Rice. The girl that loves this sport and believes in the good nature of others even if they present themselves differently. I don’t want to go anywhere; I’ll stay here until Trinity and Lucas get back.”
Kelcey nods and cracks a smile. She is thankful for Peyton and what she has done for her during the pregnancy and even before then, giving Kelcey life and allowing her to still be a part of the sport she loved and dominated in. Peyton wasn’t going anywhere….

After her opening match with Alistaire Alloccco, Peyton Rice had taken a nasty fall and bumped her head pretty hard, but the tough young Wildcat prodigy was checked out and aside from a headache, she was okay. That night she was approached by Adam Allocco, the father of Alistaire, a man who has been acting very strange lately and even off kilter. Peyton though brushed it off, he found him very weird and almost felt sorry for Alistaire who was clearly embarrassed by his dad’s advances toward Peyton as he wanted to somehow hook them both up on a date. Peyton had no clue where that came from but at least Jon Goddard was there to chase him off. After a melee broke out later in the evening, Peyton made her way toward the back, she was determined to find Chris Cannon especially after she heard the words that he said toward Kennedy Street.
The young progeny was going to keep her promise to Kelcey, he was not going to interact with him alone in some room, instead she waited for him in the main hallway as the show came to an end, everyone was cheering Owen Cruze and his huge win against Giovanni Aries, she was so proud of him but right now the focus was on one man….
The estranged husband of Kelcey Wallace.
After a few minutes, he came out of the locker room in a suit, not tie and glasses on, always the dapper dresser, Peyton was not so formal, in jeans, converse with ankle socks on and a Pink Floyd t-shirt. Her hair was slicked back in a ponytail and nails polished white…..
Peyton: “Chris….”
Chris: “Not now Peyton.”’
Peyton: “Can I talk to you. Please?”
Chris: “I have heard all already love, I don’t need to hear it from you too.”
Peyton: “Here what? That what happened last week was a mistake, that I know deep down in my heart you wouldn’t cost Kennedy the World title in favor of Sienna after all she has pulled with you and the family? Is that what you didn’t want to hear? I believe you Chris, I do.”
He stops, turns around, always having the time for Peyton and realizing that she is being sincere, never giving him a reason not to be. He turns to face her; she cracks a half smile trying to lighten up the mood a little and make it known that she does indeed come in peace…
Chris: “What is it, Peyton? I’m sure you know by now what is going on between Kelcey and I.”
Peyton: “Yes, I do. She needs you Chris, she is eight months pregnant, has Parkinson’s. She shouldn’t be alone. I don’t know what kind of falling out you two had but it can be fixed. Please Chris, you two are like the Perfect couple. I mean seriously, go talk to her.”
Chris: “She made it clear, made her point. I really don’t know what else to say. She seems to believe the same thing everyone else here does that I did that maliciously and on purpose to cost Kennedy the World Championship. I was roasted by the people who I call friends? I was questioned by my own family; I was told that I was helping the Beauty Factory and Sienna Swann.”
Peyton: “I know that is not true. Your silence is the reason why people started assuming, Chris you didn’t defend yourself when you could have. You let them think whatever they wanted, and it is human nature to think the worst. It you do not give them something to go by, of course they will look at what Sienna and Laura said and believe them. Just because a couple of people are opinionated it doesn’t mean they are right. I know who you are Chris, no one else might believe in Superman right now but I do and I think that deep down inside so does Kelcey. She is hurt right now Chris, in a very bad place, I don’t think that is what you want, right?”
He doesn’t answer, lowering his head and letting out a sigh. Chris looks away before shaking his head and starting to walk out, Peyton can’t believe that he is doing this. She quickly runs after him, trying to stop the larger Cannon….
Chris: “Peyton, we are done, okay? We are done talking about this, all I want to do is leave. I am sick of this place, I am sick of everyone here and …..”
Peyton: “Are you sick of me too, Chris? “
Chris: “I didn’t say that. Are you now insinuating like everyone else, Pey?”
Peyton: “No, I wouldn’t do that, Chris. I just wish you would take the second to listen to me. This is all a huge misunderstanding that can be easily fixed.”
Chris: “Easily fixed? You saw the reaction out there. They already made up their minds about me. Blake Mason is a piece of shit, what does he do? Hurt my family, hurt others even Sienna. I give him a taste of his own medicine and what happens? They boo me. I plant Ikiro, a trifling sod and they boo me. I hit Kennedy by accident, they boo me. They all booed me Peyton never once giving me the benefit of the doubt. So, you might ask yourself, what does that exactly mean? I will tell you; they won’t believe a WORD that I say.”
Peyton: “I believe you, does that account for anything!?”
He doesn’t say a word, instead he turns and nods…..
Peyton: “Then come back with me. Let’s talk to Kelcey, she needs you and I know that you need her.”
Chris: “Are you sure about that?”
Her face suddenly turned cold. She couldn’t believe what she just heard coming from his mouth. Slowly backing up, Peyton started to tremble some, nervously, she was getting upset at how vindictive Chris was acting….
Peyton: “You don’t mean that.”
Chris: “Yes, I do. Now leave me alone love, just leave me alone.”
Peyton: “Chris, don’t walk away, please.”
Chris: “We are done.”
He starts to walk away, Peyton grabs his arm to try and stop him when he suddenly turns and pushes her right into the concrete wall, she hits hard and crumbles to her knees as Chris shows little remorse and walks off….
Just then we see Goddard come running down the hallway, he sees Peyton on the floor, with her face buried in her palm crying her eyes out. She doesn’t even feel the pain off the hit, instead she feels the pain of the hurt, the broken heart of a man that she respect so much and adores suddenly seems to have walked away not only from his friends, fans and family but also the love of his life and the hero of a young upstart former EMERGE Champion….
Goddard: “Are ya okay, lil’ One?”
She doesn’t respond, instead leaning in, words cannot come out of her mouth, instead Goddard gives her a hug before picking her up off the ground and carrying her off in his arms to the medical training room for evaluation……

The Scene Opens…..
Peyton rice stands on the balcony of her hotel room looking out at the city of Seattle, the Needle not too far away can be seen along with the ocean on clear day. Peyton has been having an emotional roller coaster ride as of late, the gorgeous former EMERGE Prodigy has found herself in the midst of a huge Eight Person Tag Team Match. After what had happened with Chris Cannon and Kelcey Wallace, the SCW turning upside down, her good friend Owen Cruze getting a title shot, she now finds herself trying to piece herself together. Wearing jeans and a white blouse, barefoot with her nails polished white and her hair hanging down, Peyton Rice puts the Record on her phone…

As it begins, her beautiful face looks into the camera as she speaks….
“I don’t even know where to start. There are wrestlers like Aaron Blackbourne and Owen Cruze that still keep me believing there are some good guys left in this profession. I didn’t come here to SCW for titles and recognition, I came for the love I have, drawn to the best competition and the sport. Some might be asking why am I, an undefeated EMERGE Champion taking a back seat to people like Kandis and others who are getting the said opportunities that I should be? No, I don’t believe that for one second, when it comes my time for me, it’s because I earned it, plain and simple. Recently though I don’t even know what to think anymore. This fiasco with Chris Cannon, everything going on in the SCW with the Interim Championship, Sasha giving out clean slates to everyone even those that took advantage of Katya’s “kindness” for giving her loyalty. I don’t run the business, and never will I ever be, I’m not here to re-invent the wheel, or take charge in the decision-making process, Peyton Rice is a simple girl from a simple world. I am first and foremost a competitor, I wrestle every single night that I am booked, win or lose, doesn’t matter, I pick myself up and continue to the next challenge….
I learned that from fighters like my father, Ray Rice and mentor, Kelcey Wallace because there is always a cause, there will never be a time where you are not fighting for something no matter what it is. This time around, I have to pick up the pieces after a bizarre and heart-breaking Breakdown where I took a bad fall, I was approached by the father of a very talented wrestler to hook up with him, that was odd. I believe in a man who others may not but even he tested my trust and faith on Wednesday. I usually love to tour the cities I’m in but honestly, I feel like I need some time on my own, it is the only way I can serve my teammates in the eight-person tag.
Looking at my partners, I can’t help but excited. Again, I don’t know if I can really put my trust on all of them, Aaron Blackbourne is a guy I have mad respect for, and I really enjoy our talks. I know I am in good hands with him, also Mr. Goddard who has become almost like a guardian angel, he has my back, I never thought I would say that I have some dude called the “Hellbilly” taking care of me like I was one of his daughters, it’s kinda cool and he is one tough son of a gun. As for Alexis Quinne? The jury is still out on her. Talent wise she is one of the best, former World Champion, former leader of Punk Hazard, she is amazing in the ring, but Alexis also formed an alliance with Datura. The Helms family and I are very close, so I don’t appreciate anyone threatening them and I know that Regan Street is chomping at the bit waiting for Datura, I kinda feel bad for Kandis….
Okay maybe not.
Alexis and I will have to co-exist, she doesn’t have to worry about me at all, that is for sure, I am a professional first and I am not about to get into any personal battles with anyone, I can guarantee it for what lies across from us is the real challenge and a very interesting cast of characters.”
Peyton takes a second to collect her thoughts, she is still heavily occupied with what happened between her and Chris and the other altercations at Breakdown. The gorgeous Rice feels the cool breeze through her hair before turning and facing the camera to speak….
“I guess I should start with Alistaire Allocco. It was a pretty strange occurrence when his dad, Adam a bona fide legend in the SCW has been appearing regularly acting extremely bizarre like someone escaped the retirement community and they are senile, I wouldn’t be surprised if orderlies show up at the next Breakdown to take him back. He propositioned me to go out on a date with you Alistaire and here we are facing each other again. Honestly, I loved our match on Breakdown, it was a real honor stepping in the ring with a Former World Champion and someone that wrestles your style. It was probably one of my favorite encounters I have had in a very long time. For me, this was just more than an opportunity to showcase my talent against his, it was the SCW and what it stands for. I don’t know if we will get closure at the PPV, but I would love to do it again sometime. Then we have Jordan Majors, another newcomer that first burst on the scene for a little bit and then came back with a chip on her shoulder and a large bank roll. Suddenly she is the darling of the Beauty Factory. I don’t really think you are going to listen to me Jordan so I will probably be wasting my time doing so but here is a piece of advice…
You are making enemies pretty quickly and haven’t wrestled much. In the ring you are good, you know what your doing and I can appreciate it. I’m not the type of person that gets involved in all the gimmicky stuff, I maybe boring, just Pey and nothing more but I was trained by some of the best and all I ever want to do is honor them with my skills and ability to shine in matches like these where we all know it will be crazy. Thing is Jordan, behind your bank roll and cuteness, you’re probably oblivious and don’t even realize it but your team consists of you and THREE former World Champions, TWO Hall of Famers and one of the men that trained me at Ante Up.
Katie Steward, I teamed with Maddie and Gigi, I have hung out with them, they are really cool gals. You are a legend and I am really super excited to step in the ring with you. I have watched The Goddess for a long time, my trainers gave me videos of certain wrestlers, you were one of them. I think the world of your talent and legendary status and hope that one day I can accomplish even half of what you done, that would make a successful career. This is why I came to the SCW, to step in the ring with the best and I feel I’m doing this at Tabula Rasa because even though Tommy Valentine is dating or doing whatever with Kandis which is kinda gross, he trained me along with David Helms and Matty Stone,
Hey Coach Tommy!”
She waves and smiles knowing full well Tommy would knock her block off if he had the chance to win the match, this is not wrestling school anymore, this is the real deal and going up against Katie Steward and Tommy Valentine really has the young Pey excited. She looks back and keeps talking…
“Tommy, I am honored to share the ring with you too. I understand that lately you’ve had what I like to call the attitude bug, it seems like so many people these days have. I believe in you though, Tommy, I always have. You gave me so much information, you taught me the ropes and told me some sound advice, our talks were some of my favorite moments in Ante Up. I loved going there every single day and now wow, you and I are competing in the same ring together and under the SCW banner where it means something, it’s not training class anymore. I guess the student needs to show the teacher a thing or two…..
I want to not only prove, but also show it to you that I am ready, just like Katie Steward and Alistaire, all of my teammates that put their faith in what I have to offer. This is my second PPV and there is nothing that I love more than showcasing my skills in front of the fans. There is a lot going on at Tabula Rasa tomorrow night and I plan to put on a clinic and display what I can do to former World Champions at this stage of my game. Veterans who have had RTG moments no one will ever forget, that is why I came here…. And maybe just maybe, my faith will be restored just a little more in the human spirit for I will never waver or change for anyone….
You will always get my best and I promise after the bell rings, the seven other competitors will see, that Peyton Rice?
Is not just another, “Pretty” face.”
She brandishes her smile and brushes her hair back before winking….
