A TERRIBLE PLACE
After Rise to Greatness, it was Peyton Rice’s greatest moment of her career. To be able and experience the biggest event of the SCW Calendar Year was a dream come true. Dreams though end quickly when reality sets in. Mika Kozlov had been a thorn on the side of Peyton, she had attacked her on multiple occasions to the point that it became an occurring theme. Now after fending the challenges of Dylan Cent, Kandis and others, Kimberly Williams was next, one of the most dangerous women on the EMERGE roster and a threat to hold the Championship.
Peyton needed to be ready.
There was also the budding relationship with Jason Dillinger, great friends from Ante Up Academy but recently have become closer, she is clueless to what he has been doing lately with her and the antics of the man he hired to break her and Ricky Octavius apart. So far it has worked.

Peyton needed to get ready for Kimberly and while the young and beautiful EMERGE Champion had a few things going through her mind thanks to Mika Kozlov amongst other things, she focuses on the punching bag. Dressed in shorts, a sports top, her feet and fists taped up, nails polished white and long hair in a ponytail. Kelcey Wallace holds the back, she’s in cut off tights, a tank top and sneakers, her hair hanging down….
Kelcey: “Focus on the bag love, pretend that this is your opponent. Kimberly may act like she is ready to play clean, in desperate situations, we have seen how far people will go. Hit it…..”
Peyton punches a few times and kicks….
Kelcey: “Good…. now harder!”
Peyton takes a deep breath and punches again and again before thrusting another kick. Kelcey holds the bag tightly….
Kelcey: “You can do better…..harder!”
Peyton’s eyes widen, all she could think about was the conversation she had with her father right before Rise to Greatness. It was the night that changed her life and made her start to lose faith more and more in the sport. She never thought someone like Mika would ever stoop down to these levels….
She was wrong.
A secret Peyton has told no one….

Peyton stood there holding the bag of Dim Sum that she had gone earlier to buy so that her and her father, Ray Rice could enjoy. She loved her father, Peyton and Ray had a close relationship even after his accident. Wearing jean shorts, converse with no socks and a black pull over sleeveless blouse. Her hair was high in a ponytail, her father sat in the wheelchair wearing jeans and a T-shirt, with boots…..
Peyton: “Dad, you’re scaring me, what is this all about?”
Ray: “She came and saw me in Arizona and then again tonight.”
Peyton: “Who came here?”
Again, he hesitates before saying her name….
Ray: “Mika Kozlov.”
Peyton’s eyes widen…..
Ray: “She….”
Peyton: “She what dad?”
Ray: “….. had sex with me.”
Her eyes simply tear up. She could feel the bag of Dim Sum slip from her hands and land on the floor. Peyton’s knees became weak at the sounds of her father saying he slept with her mortal enemy and a woman who tried to end her career….
Ray: “Pumpkin…. I need to explain myself. I want you to understand why I did it. Please, hear me out before you cast judgement on your old man, please?”
Peyton: “You…slept with her?”
Ray: “Let me explain, I wasn’t going to say anything especially before your biggest event of the year, but I need you to understand why I did this…..”
Peyton: “Understand!?”
Ray rolls himself toward Peyton though his daughter steps back….
Ray: “Please…. Please don’t do this.”
Peyton: “Don’t do this!? What is that dad!? What shouldn’t I do!? Back up because you disgust me right now!? How could you do that dad!?”
Ray: “I was trying to protect you! She came to my house in Arizona, she threatened to hurt you further than what she already did and I’m sorry if I don’t want to see my baby girl unconscious on the mat and being taken to the hospital because this crazy shit monger bitch wants to hurt you beyond belief! She came to me and gave me an offer!”
Peyton: “Offer!? Offer!? Dad, I can protect myself!”
Ray: “Damn it, Peyton! You don’t get it! I am your father and I have made some mistakes, I was a fool trying to save every life and found myself in this wheelchair! Do you think I don’t think about every day what it would be like to walk again!? I can’t! I can’t walk and protect you myself no matter how much you think your abilities can stave off a raving lunatic like that Mika woman! She made me an offer and I couldn’t fight her, but if it meant your safety!? Damn it I was going to make sure of it!”
She can’t process everything that has happened, Peyton covers her face trying to fight off the tears and pretend this nightmare isn’t true. Her father is making a plea, one that she doesn’t want to hear…..
Ray: “Peyton, look at me please?”
Peyton: “I can’t believe you did this.”
Ray: “Look at me, sweetheart, please!?”
Slowly removing her hands from the gorgeous yet saddened features of the EMERGE Champion, Peyton can barely look him in the eye….
Ray: “I love you and I would never do anything to intentionally hurt you, Pey. You’re my youngest daughter, the light of my life, if you were not here I would probably give up and just die. I was thinking about your safety and if it meant that she wouldn’t hurt you again? Then I would do it over and over…”
Peyton: “I’ve heard enough! You betrayed my trust and had no business thinking for yourself! Mika was only doing this to manipulate you and have her way. She had NO intentions of keeping her word dad! She wanted to play you the fool and still try to hurt me!”
Ray: “She promised me.”
Peyton: “No dad…. She lied to you. I can’t do this right now.”
After taking in so much already, Peyton starts to make her way toward the bedroom, Ray attempts to grab her arm but she pulls away…..
Ray: “Peyton…. Please?”
She doesn’t say another word and slams the door behind her as he lowers his head knowing that what he did was not only wrong, it was the biggest mistake of his life and there is no way to take it back….

It was nice of David Helms to leave the key for Kelcey and Peyton after they closed for the day. The two women had the gym to themselves. Kelcey could see that something was bothering Peyton, Kelcey stood fast, holding the bag and looking right into the green eyes of her protégé…..
Kelcey: “Focus on the bag, pretend she is your opponent. Kimberly is tough, she will not expect you to come full force, keep her on her toes and off balance, that will confuse her. It makes her vulnerable. In all my years all I ever did was learn their weaknesses and use it against my opponents, that is where my perfection exceeded. I wasn’t one of the best because I was perfect, I was one of the best because I studied my opponents. Now kick the bag harder.”
Peyton takes a deep breath and kicks it again, Kelcey shakes her head….
Kelcey: “Think about what upsets you most! What you want most out of this business! Now kick the damn bag harder love!”
Peyton starts to shake, she closes her eyes and lowers her head….
One Week Ago
Venice Beach, CA.
The gorgeous Peyton sits on the couch, wearing a black sundress, barefoot with her hair hanging down. Her nails polished white. She watches the last SCW Breakdown before Apocalypse. Glancing over at her phone and texting, a smirk comes across her face, shaking her head….
On the other side it’s Jason Dillinger, he stands in front of the mirror in his apartment, all dressed up and ready to go over to her place, pick her up and get some dinner. He ends up calling her….
J-Dilly: “Sorry, I had to call.’
Peyton: “Can’t get enough of me J-Dilly?”
J-Dilly: “Should I?”
Peyton: “I’m not all that.”
J-Dilly: “You are and more. I just wanted to call and let you know I’m on my way.”
Peyton: “Okay, I just need to put my shoes on when you get here. Go ahead and pose a little more in front of the mirror J-Dilly, get your fix.”
He starts to laugh at the sound of that. She giggles and brushes her hair back….
Peyton: “Hurry up big guy.”
J-Dilly: “I will.”
J-Dilly hangs up. He grabs his keys and walks over to the door where Alistair Taylor stands. He smirks and has his hands out….
J-Dilly: “What are you doing here?”
Alistair: “I’m here to get paid mate and then discuss what’s the next move. Seems like you have the bird in your arms already, looks like the plan worked so now? I’m want my fucking money and like to discuss our next move, I have ideas.”
J-Dilly stands there, eyes narrowing staring right at Allistaire. Meanwhile, Peyton hangs up the phone and smirks, she sits back down and continues to watch Breakdown when suddenly, Laura Steinbeck comes out with Sienna Swann and the Truelove Twins. Her demeanor quickly changes, the Beauty Factory is a sore subject with Peyton…..

Peyton quickly opens her eyes and with such force strikes quickly at the bag multiple times with her fist before finally letting out a hug kick knocking Kelcey off her feet causing her to fall flat on her butt. Peyton’s eyes widen as Kelcey quickly grabs her stomach, the young protégé notices that and goes to help Kelcey up….
Peyton: “I am so sorry!”
Kelcey: “Don’t be love, I’m fine.”
Peyton: “I hurt your stomach, are you okay?”
Kelcey: “I’m fine….”
The Perfect ten stands and brushes away the injury, Peyton gabs her hand as Kelcey looks back….
Peyton: “Is there something I don’t know? You hit hard, but the impact was on your chest, not stomach.”
Kelcey: “I’m fine Peyton. I really am.”
Peyton: “Oh my God….”
Kelcey: “What, love?”
Peyton: “You’re pregnant?”
Kelcey tries to deny it but can’t, she just stands there after a few moments and nods. An excited Peyton hugs her….
Peyton: “I am so happy for you guys!”
Kelcey: “Thank you but don’t tell anyone, please.”
Peyton: “Of course, it’s not my place. I’m so sorry, you shouldn’t be training me.”
Kelcey: “I am and have my reasons, tonight was one of them. I saw something in your eyes I have never seen before and it makes me nervous, Peyton.”
Peyton: “What is that?”
Kelcey: “Rage.”
Her green eyes widen….
Peyton: “No…. I….”
Kelcey: “You are not telling me everything and I need to know so that I can help you if no one else will, love. It’s hard, very hard to survive in this business without friends and trust. As a young woman who has been in the business for less than two years, you’ve already been through more than most go in a career. Peyton talk to me?”
She’s hesitant at first, taking a few moments to compose herself but she can’t fight back the tears, turning and looking at Kelcey knowing that she needs to concentrate on Kimberly but it all ties in, she finally takes a leap of faith….
Peyton: “My father was forced to sleep with Mika Kozlov.”
Kelcey’s eyes wide, all she can do is bring Peyton in for a hug, sharing an embrace for now Kelcey has a new purpose….

“When the announcement was that I would be facing Kimberly Williams at Invasion Texas, two thoughts came to mind, one, this was my chance to finish it once and for all especially after what Kim did to me in the tag match at Emerge 5. Second, it was another way to cement my legacy against one of the toughest, most unpredictable women in all of wrestling with a pedigree comparable to only a few families in this business. I already laid down the challenge to Mika Kozlov, I am willing to put my career in EMERGE on the line and this Championship if I have it to rid of her. For now though?

I understand and am well aware of just what kind of woman you can become with the drop of the dime, it doesn’t concern me. Long as I have been wrestling which is not like you, I’ve learned to take my lumps and get right back up. In UWA when Savali and Piper Street took liberty to beat me like I stole their lunch money, what did I do?
I stood right back up.
When I had Dylan cent constantly attacking and degrading me, thanks to you as well tag partner. Dylan thought he could have his way with me, what did I do?
I stood right back up.
Do you see him anymore? No. I did the same thing with Kandis when she decided to brag and take the wrong side because she scored a pin fall on me, gee, the same match you were my partner, I see a pattern. At RTG, did she take the belt? No.
I stood right back up.
And finally, your buddy and a woman Kim you have praised so much, it became rather embarrassing in Mika Kozlov who tried to end my career and dropped me right on my head while you watched and did nothing?
I stood right back up!
There is a lot I lack in. I’m not the best wrestler though I would like to think I can go with the best in the ring. I’m not the biggest, the baddest or meanest, for what I bring to the ring is something even you Kim are lacking. Not chaos or bloodlust, not some fantastical hunger for pain and pleasure? Oh no….
Heart.
See, Kim, I never give up, you can say whatever your hearts desire when it comes to me. I’m not threatened, I’m not scared, and I am not intimidated by you Kim. I know exactly what you are capable of and I remember how hard I worked to get to this spot. You want to talk about “fire” and so many other variables which pertain to what the EMERGE Championship means?
What does it mean to you, Kim?
This title is about EMERGE, not me, not you, not anyone. You might think this is your redemption? The confidence to beat me?
