Vs. DYLAN CENT: EMERGE CHAMPIONSHIP INVASION CHICAGO

THE CRUSH: PART II

The young, beautiful and exciting Peyton Rice, the woman now known as “Pretty Perfect” had surprised many by making it to the end of the tournament and now was in the finals to face off against a very hungry and dangerous man that was looking to prove something after what many say was a failed run at the SCW. For Peyton though this was her chance to become a Champion and impress the SCW, show why the future roster member was the real deal, a graduate of the Ante Up Academy.

In her personal life, Peyton was being mentored and trained by Kelcey Wallace, the four-time SCW World Champion and future Hall of Famer. There was also her father, Ray, the former Firefighter that is now confined to a wheel chair, worried about her health. A relationship with Ricky Octavius that was healthy and a good friend like Jason Dillinger ho obviously had a crush on her but she refused to believe that.

Emerge Invasion was just a few days away, Peyton had arrived a few days earlier, Kelcey had also wanted to be there, get an early start on preparing for the biggest match of her young career. In her short tights, knee pads, tank top and sneakers, Peyton once again tries to lock up with Kelcey who has on leggings, a sports bra and tights, she quickly drops her and backs up, Peyton gets up to her fours as Kelcey walks around…..

PeytonCastPic-Kelcey

Kelcey: “Get up.”

She starts to tremble a little, grinding her teeth and slow to get back on her feet….

Kelcey: “Come on Peyton, stand back on your feet love, you are faster, smarter and more agile than Dylan Cent….”

Peyton lowers her head, the strands of sweaty hair covering the sides of her face. Her fingers with the glossy finish on her nails grips the mat some, Kelcey can tell there is something wrong, Peyton NEVER gives up, she never takes this long to continue the fight…..

Kelcey: “Are you hurt?”

The young prodigy doesn’t respond….

Kelcey: “I said are you hurt!?”

The silence coming from Peyton says it all, all she could think about was the moment that brought her spirits down and it happened last night…..

Boka Restaurant

One of the finest restaurants in the city on Halsted Street, it took some time for Peyton to embrace the fact her mother, Jolene had asked her to dinner. A famous interior designer, Jolene Price was a name everyone knew. While still living in Arizona, she traveled a lot and it just so happened Peyton’s mother was in Chicago for one more day before flying back out. Peyton wore black slacks, a matching halter top and open toed heels, her nails polished white and long brunette hair hanging down. She was a splitting image of her mother who wore a blue blouse, white slacks and matching pumps…

Peyton and her mother hadn’t talked much since her father’s accident, Jolene left after six months, she couldn’t handle the pressures and responsibilities that came with her husband being crippled from the tragedy…..

PeytonCastPic-Jolene

Jolene: “I’m happy you came.”

Peyton grabs her glass of wine, slowly taking a sip and nodding….

PeytonCastPic3Peyton: “Thanks for inviting me mom.”

Jolene: “I know that you and I haven’t talked much lately, I always want to be a part of your life, I hope you realize that. I understand you may not agree with some of the choices I made.”

Peyton: “Mom, you left dad, you left me and even Siobhan.”

Jolene: “Your sister is almost out of college. How is that going by the way?”

The young brunette takes another sip from her wine when the waiter places some appetizers on the table…..

Peyton: “I dropped out.”

Jolene: “You dropped out, why… why?”

Peyton: “College doesn’t pay for dad.”

Jolene: “Peyton, you were modeling…”

Peyton: “I stopped that. I can go back anytime.”

Jolene: “Is this what your father was talking about? This wrestling?”

Peyton: “Yes, this wrestling and it may not pay all the bills right now mom, at least with dad’s pension from the Fire Department, the disability and the money I do make which isn’t much but at least I saved from modeling, he can at least have a roof over his head, he doesn’t have to worry about missing a meal and I can get a nurse to care for him even if he refuses. Someone has to take care of him, mom.”

Jolene shakes her head and sighs, now taking the glass of wine herself and sipping….

Peyton: “Why?”

Jolene: “Why what, Pey?”

Peyton: “Why did you leave us?”

Jolene: “I didn’t leave you. I…”

Peyton: “No mom, you left us when dad was hurt, when we needed you the most. All that fell on me. How the hell was I supposed to support myself in college and dad? Do you know how disappointed he was that I left school to pursue wrestling? I could have modeled, I chose this, and I will succeed in it, I have a chance to win the Championship in a few days. I’m doing this for dad, for us. I get it mom, you are traveling all over the states, your designs are mainstream, great but you forgot us.”

Jolene: “Damn it Peyton, I did not. I made a choice because I couldn’t bare to see the man that was so strong and such a polarizing figure become so pathetic. Your father drove me nuts and I couldn’t handle it, I just couldn’t. I tried, and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. You can judg….”

Peyton cuts her off…..

Peyton: “Judge you? Oh, I’m going to judge you mom. What kind of wife leaves their husband in their greatest time of need?”

Jolene: “That is not fair, Peyton. Your sister understands….”

Peyton: “Of course she does mom, Siobhan couldn’t wait to get out of the house. Maybe I’m just too loyal to dad, I hate seeing him this way as he tries everyday to walk. He holds out hope that one day he will, and it kills me because each passing day I know he won’t. You don’t get it mom, you have moved on and try to sympathize with me and even with dad. He was going through a rough patch and it wasn’t fair.”

Jolene: “I know it upsets you, let’s just try to have a nice dinner and hopefully one day you understand and accept why I had to leave. Okay?”

Peyton: “You know what mom, thank you for this…. But I lost my appetite.”

The gorgeous Rice stands up….

Jolene: “Peyton… no, please stay. Let’s talk it out and have a dinner together. Tell me about this wrestling thing, maybe I can watch it….”

Peyton: “It’s fine mom. We both know how this ends tonight.”

She places her napkin down and walks out, Jolene sighs and sips her wine, shaking her head at how this evening with her daughter, with so much hope and promise, turned out….

Chicago, IL.

3.29.18

It almost seemed like Peyton had given up, Kelcey even thought she was hurt but before she knew it, Peyton looked up at her, Kelcey squatted down, the two came face to face….

Kelcey: “Are you hurt?”

Peyton shakes her head “no”….

Kelcey: “Good. You better not be giving up love and wasting my time.”

Peyton: “I’m ready….”

Kelcey: “Bollocks, you are not ready. Dylan Cent is hungry, he is nasty, and I was in the SCW during his tenure and the man can hit like a bloody gorilla. You can’t take that Peyton, so you will have to use your speed to beat him. He out matches you in every category. I made that mistake with Selena Frost. I made that mistake with Ravyn Taylor. I made that mistake with Ace Marshall. Get your head out of your ass and get up.”

Peyton: “I have a lot on my mind.”

Kelcey: “What?”

Peyton: “My mom and….”

Kelcey: “Peyton, I am the last person to be a cold-hearted bitch to you but your mother in this situation is irrelevant. You need to block all of that NOW from your mind. I have had some serious proble3ms in my personal life and I had to wrestle through them, I expect the same. Dylan Cent has something to prove and he will run over you to do it! Now get on your feet love and forget everything right now on concentrate on the EMERGE Championship.”

After a few moments, Peyton stands back up, she takes a deep breath and brushes her hair back, looking away for a moment as Kelcey paces a little….

Kelcey: “Attack me.”

Peyton: “I can beat him.”

Kelcey: “Yeah? I’ve been in the ring with him, right now? You can’t. Attack me.”

Peyton: “You don’t believe me?”

Kelcey: “Make me one. Attack me.”

Peyton: “You don’t get it….”

Kelcey gets right up to her face…..

Kelcey: “No love, that’s the problem, I do get it.”

She doesn’t say another word and backs up. Standing there for a moment before Peyton finally starts to pace and locks up with Kelcey again…..

A Few Hours Later….

Peyton sits at the edge of the bed in her hotel room, barefoot with her tights and top on, ready to take a nap and shower. She had her phone out, talking to her boyfriend, Ricky Octavius….

PeytonCastPic-RickyRicky: “You don’t sound okay.”

Peyton: “I’m fine. My mom upset me last night, I carried it over into training, I messed up. Kelcey put me back on track. I just don’t want to fail her. Are you coming?”

Ricky: “I’m heading to the airport now, I’ll be there in a few hours, then we can go out and have fun, okay beautiful?”

Peyton: “Okay…. See you then. Love you.”

Ricky: “Love you too.”

Peyton hangs up, smiling for the first time today, Ricky usually does that to her. She lies down and falls asleep almost instantly….

Three Hours Later

Peyton’s green eyes shoot open, she sits up a little disoriented looking at the clock, she quickly grabs her phone and reads the text message….

Sorry babe, missed my flight, I’ll be there first thing tomorrow. Love you, call me later.

Peyton’s eyes narrow, she throws the phone on the bed and stands up, heading to the showers. After spending about an hour getting ready, she has on jeans, a black halter top and open toed heels, her nails polished white and hair hanging down all made up ready to go out. The gorgeous brunette grabs her phone and sees a text from Jason Dillinger….

Just flew into town, do you and Ricky want to hang out?

Peyton calls him back instead, after a few rings he answers the phone….

PeytonCastPic-JDillyJ-Dilly: “Didn’t expect you to call me back.”

Peyton: “Hey J-Dilly, it’s nice to hear a friendly voice. Been crazy the last 24 hours. Ricky missed his flight, he’s coming tomorrow.”

J-Dilly: “So? What do you say, dinner and Wrigley Town?”

Peyton: “That actually sounds like a great idea. I’m so down for that.”

J-Dilly: “Pick you up in 30?”

Peyton: “I’ll be here.”

She hangs up and smiles, disappointed that Ricky is not coming but at least she gets to spend time with her good friend, Jason Dillinger.

He removes the phone from his ear, he then dials, another manly voice with a British accent answers the phone….

Voice: “Yeah mate?”

J-Dilly: “Color me impressed again. You are worth every penny. So, what happened this time?”

Voice: “New York is a dangerous city, a bloke like Ricky can’t be too careful, he may get mugged.”

J-Dilly’s eyes widen before smirking, he hangs up, stepping out of the car and heading into Peyton’s hotel.

New York City, NY.

Present Time

Ricky slowly opens his eyes, he doesn’t even know how he got there. Looking around, confused he is in some forest, the middle of nowhere, robbed of his possessions. A man watched from the distance, he smirks and starts to walk back to his car….

That man is Alistair Taylor.

“PRETTY PERFECT” PROMO

MY TWO “CENTS”

REC:

PeytonCastPic5“It is hard to imagine how far I have come in such a short period of time. When I chose EMERGE, it was to better myself as a wrestler, take that next step in my journey and make the best of it. Did I intend to become the EMERGE Champion?

Yes, I always had full intentions to one day be wearing that gold, I do not settle for anything else.

I am humble and a realist though. My reasons are different than Dylan Cent’s. Going through Kim Williams and before that three wrestlers who are guaranteed future stars, I look across the ring at a man who calls himself the “Centerpiece”. Dylan Cent has been to the big dance, he understands what it takes to be an SCW Superstar, some call him a failure, others feel he needed to step away for a while and come back stronger, that he did. His attitude is different, he doesn’t lack an ounce of confidence, he already is declaring himself the winner and your first EMERGE Champion?

That’s fine, he has a right too and let’s all be honest with one another, he’s favored to win big. Thing is Mr. Cent, I know you will talk about being “Pretty” and being “Perfect”, two notions that probably have no place in wrestling, right?

Tell that to Kelcey Wallace.

I have never been in the ring with an actual SCW Superstar, you are my first. To say that this is the biggest match of my career and my toughest is an understatement. See, Mr. Cent, you have beaten wrestlers that I can only dream of. I don’t have those memories, my resume is small, not even a page, there is no one outside a few wrestlers here in EMERGE or in the UWA Cruiserweight Division who I have beaten. Was I a former Champion?

Yes.

Do I have the heart of a lioness?

Yes.

The determination to wrestle King Kong to the ground?

Yes.

Can I beat you, Mr. Cent?

YES.

I respect what you can do in the ring sir, that’s about it, thinking I’m a pushover, the champagne is already on Ice, the streamers, cake and the parties started. Should I congratulate you now? How about I just concede, shake your hand and walk away, save myself the beating?

No, Mr. Cent.

I’m going to ruin your party, this arrogance, claiming you’re what the EMERGE brand needs? It ends now. I made a commitment to this sport, I want the chances you were given, the only difference?

I won’t mess them up.

It starts with you and when Invasion is over, they will crown a NEW EMERGE Champion….

Not a “Centerpiece”, not a former SCW Superstar….

Just some girl from Arizona…..

That on this night?

Was “Pretty Perfect”.”

Vs. KIMBERLY WILLIAMS: EMERGE III

THE CRUSH: PART I

Peyton Rice in the UWA had proven the young woman had what it took in order to succeed, she started to once again pick off where she left off, first against a game Alex Anarchy and then in a four-way dance that put her into the final four of the Emerge Championship and a chance to be the very first EMERGE Champion for the new Promotion that was the minor leagues for the SCW. When UWA went under, Peyton had a run as Cruiserweight Champion, the upstart company knew exactly what they were getting when they signed the pleasant and beautiful young woman who is not mentored by the great former World Champion, Kelcey Wallace, the woman known as the Perfect 10. That was a huge boost to the confidence of Peyton, it also was going to make her a better wrestler.

It all started for her at Ante Up Academy First. The young woman was a prized student before UWA, Emerge and Kelcey Wallace and when they told her she was ready? It was the happiest day of her life.

ANTE UP ACADEMY

Peyton knew that her time in the academy was coming to an end, always trying to improve and get better, she was ready for the challenge but part of her didn’t want the experience to end. She was practicing some moves, wearing tights, wrestling shoes and a t-shirt with her hair slicked back in a ponytail and her nails polished white. Matty came up to her standing outside of the ring….

Matty: “Hey doll you gotta minute?”

Peyton: “Sure Sir Matty.”

“Sir Matty of Stone” was his nickname, Peyton ran away with it calling the native Bostonian Sir out of both jest and respect, the two had a great relationship and though Matty will never admit it, Peyton was one of his favorites. She stops and walks over to the ropes….

Matty: “David wants to see you in the office.”

Peyton: “Is everything okay?”

Matty: “Everything is fine doll. He wants to talk to you about a few things is all and how about we don’t keep him waiting okay?”

Peyton: “Yes, Sir Matty right on it!”

She flips over the top rope and lands on the apron before dropping down to the mats. Stone shakes his head, always telling her that she sometimes takes unnecessary risks. She smiles knowing exactly what he is thinking and makes her way over to David’s office. Peyton walks in as David in black training warm ups and a tank top looks at one of his pictures on the wall holding the tag team titles with Tommy Valentine….

Peyton: “Mr. Helms?”

David: “You know it’s David, Pey.”

Peyton: “Sorry, bad habit. David, Sir Matty told me you wanted to see me?”

David: “Yeah I did, come here for a second.”

The young Arizona native makes her way over to Helms who stands in front of that picture of he and his tag team partner….

Peyton: “Rise to Greatness, 2013. The night you beat the IWC Contingent and the Cashmere Mafia in a TLC match.”

David: “Very good, that night was very special to me. It was a dream come true and it was the last time Tommy and I won the tag team titles together before I retired. It’s moments like that which makes my job so important, so pleasurable you know?”

Peyton: “You love what you do.”

David: “….and that’s the key Peyton, you need to love what you do. Wrestling isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle and those that dedicate themselves to it are the ones that survive, they flourish in the business and that’s when people will know the difference between champions and entertainers. I see that in you which is why I asked you into the office. You are special Peyton, I would like to think all of my students are in Ante Up, they all have their reasons for being here but with you it’s genuine. You never talk about your family, your past or anything outside of wrestling. You’ve never brought drama in here and all you do is work and put the time in when we all know you could have a successful Modeling career or even gymnastics.”

Peyton: “I could, I still can if I wanted too but honestly this is what I want to do. I dedicated myself for the last 15 months and I swore that one day you would tell me that I was ready, and I can start my career. At first, I didn’t know what to expect and all. You guys became my family, the friends I have met, and the relationships forged forever are in these walls. I never talked about my family because I don’t want people to know the truth.”

David turns to her with an arched brow, he’s never heard her talk about her private life and suddenly now the gorgeous Peyton seems to be breaking out of her shell a little….

David: “Do you want to talk about it?”

Peyton: “My dad is the most important person in my life, a Fire Marshall back in Glendale, Arizona. A few years ago, he had an accident trying to save another Fire Fighter, a beam broke and landed on his back and paralyzing him from the waist down. It’s been a struggle; my mother just 6 months ago couldn’t handle it anymore and trust me my dad didn’t help so it’s not all on her so she left us. My older sister is in Australia for school so that leaves me and yeah, it gets tough.”

David: “Why didn’t you say something sooner we could have helped you.”

Peyton: “And get preferential treatment? I rather not and do it on my own merit. I appreciate the sentiment, I do.”

David: “I bet your father is proud of you isn’t he?”

She nods with a smile on her face….

David: “Well he’s going to be even prouder Peyton. I was talking to Matty and Tommy and we all agreed, you are ready.”

Peyton: “Ready? For what?”

David: “You are ready to wrestle in the big leagues Peyton.”

Her eyes widen…..

Peyton: “Oh my God! Are you serious!?”

David: “Dead serious, Peyton you have been ready for a while, we felt another few months would only help you…..you are ready.”

Peyton quickly and excited hugs David catching him by surprise. He laughs a little and hugs her back, so proud of the young Rice. He could also see in her face the sadness of leaving the Academy….

Peyton: “I’m…..I’m going to miss this place and all of you.”

David: “We will miss you too, your smile and positive attitude are contagious Peyton. You know the doors are always open for you. You are a graduate now, this is and will ALWAYS be your home. Now look at those pictures, I want to hang up one of yours in a great moment of many you will create in the successful career you will have, and I am proud to know that I was a part in creating Peyton Rice.”

She starts to get teary eyed, nodding before she starts to cry, David hugs her again just as Matty Stone and Tommy Valentine walk in, she turns around and walks right up to both hugging them too….

Tommy: “I’m proud of you kid. I know you are going to go on to do great things.”

Peyton: “Thank you Tommy…..that means a lot.”

Matty: “Knock em’ dead doll.”

The young Peyton smiles and nods. All three trainers and wrestlers show their appreciation to the Peyton, they all agree, this is the beginning of an incredible career.……

EMERGE II

Toronto, Ontario

After Emerge II though, thinking back to her last days of training with now a chance to be a major Champion, Peyton was ready for that next step. For now though, she was planning to hang out with her boyfriend, Ricky Octavius. The event was over, she watched on the monitor already dressed in jeans, black boots and a matching hoodie sweater, her nails polished white and her long hair hanging down, she had her phone in hand as it started to buzz…

It was Ricky as she quickly answered it…

Peyton: “Hey babe, did you see that?”

Ricky: “See what?”

Peyton: “You’re not here yet?”

Ricky: “That’s why I was calling you, the car now won’t start. I’m about three hours out, looks like I’m not going anywhere.”

Peyton: “What? That’s a brand-new car?”

Ricky: “I know right? Seems like something is wrong with the belt, anyway, I was able to get it towed, heading there now. Stay at the hotel tonight, I’ll find a place here and we can meet up tomorrow.”

Peyton: “Babe, I can drive out there.”

Ricky: “Nah, it’s getting late, I don’t want you on the road in this weather, stay there, come out in the morning, we can meet in Buffalo.”

Peyton: “Are you sure?”

Ricky: “Positive. I love you.”

Peyton: “Love you too.”

She hangs up the phone clearly disappointed, looking over at the screen seeing Mika with the mic and now the emergence of Serotonin, no pun intended. She grabs her things, puts on her beanie, as the show goes off the air, Peyton turns around and opens the door, Jason Dillinger is standing there in jeans, boots, a tight shirt and leather jacket, startling Peyton who bounces back a little…

Peyton: “Jesus, J-Dilly….”

The gorgeous Peyton starts to chuckle a little….

Peyton: “You scared the shit out of me. Do you always hang out in the front of the lady’s locker room?”

Dilly: “Sorry, I was actually looking for you, I know you have plans with Ricky tonight, I just wanted to congratulate you on that huge win and say that I am proud of what you are doing so far. That is all, sorry to startle you, I don’t want to keep you from Ricky….”

As J-Dilly is about to walk, Peyton grabs his hand….

Peyton: “Okay, first off, thank you, that means a lot coming from you J-Dilly. You and I have been on that long road together, we started at the same time, we both know what it takes to get there, and I am always pinching myself over and over trying to figure out if this is all real. Second, Ricky is having car problems, he couldn’t make it.”

Dilly: “That’s terrible news.”

Peyton: “I know. It sucks, he’s like three hours out so it’s not worth it.”

Dilly: “So, does that mean you are free?”

Peyton: “Yeah, I guess so, huh?”

She smiles and looks away as J-Dilly takes a deep breath and tries to muster the courage to ask her out…

Dilly: “It would be a shame to see this night go to waste. I haven’t had dinner yet; catering tonight is not up to the standards to nourish my body or yours.”

Peyton: “It’s not that bad….”

Dilly: “Pey…”

Peyton: “Are you inviting me to go grab a bight to eat?”

Dilly: “Well, yes.”

Peyton: “What about Kandis?”

Dilly: “What about, Kandis?”

Peyton: “I think she likes you J-Dilly, maybe she’s the one you should take out tonight, I think she would really like that and….”

He tilts his head, Peyton smiles at the face Dillinger is giving her, she has seen that all too often….

Peyton: “Okay… okay… I’m ready.”

Dilly: “Excellent, I’ll get the car and meet you outside?”

Peyton: “See you in a bit!”

Dillinger grabs a few of her things, walking out, he reaches into his pocket and takes out his phone, he sees the missed call, returning it…..

Voice: “It’s done.”

Dilly: “I know, I am going out with her tonight.”

Voice: “Good, I cut the belt and rotor, he’s stuck until tomorrow. Have fun.”

Dilly: “I owe you one.”

He hangs up. Dillinger cracks a smirk, ready to enjoy his night with Ricky out of the picture….

PeytonCastPic5“Perfection….

Kimberly Williams, I have heard this already before, so has Kelcey Wallace and countless others and like those same people I don’t think you truly understand what it means to strive to a notion no one thinks exists. It does, Perfection is what you want it to be. We all have different definitions of the word, maybe Chaos is what you find to be the key to your existence though I have learned people who caused chaos and claim it are usually socially awkward, attention starved egotists who need to see others suffer to feel better about themselves. Hasn’t the world seen enough of that Kimberly? Could it be because the Jones family sees you as the outside girl, the pariah?

With all due respect Kimberly, you are not only dangerous and talented in the ring, you are also hungry to succeed as I, only difference is you will do whatever you feel is necessary…..

I won’t, I’ll just beat you in the ring.

The Emerge Championship is important to me for many reasons, the biggest? Three names… David Helms, Tommy Valentine and Matty Stone. It was those three gentlemen that took their time to make sure I was ready to step in the ring and challenge against women like you. Kim, you are the toughest match I have had to date, for you this might be a cake walk, for me it is a reminder why I am in EMERGE. I wish my life was perfect, I wish I could say nothing was flawed. That is not the case, my father is confined to a wheelchair, I try my best to juggle my personal and professional career, I want him to be proud of me and at the same time he deserves to see his daughter make on her promises.

I haven’t found my definition of Perfection yet, I know one day I will but until then I take one match at a time, one opportunity at a time and you Kimberly are next. I hope through all that bravado and talk, there is a serious woman in there because I am going to bring everything I have, I was taught by the best and maybe I have a higher ceiling, it wasn’t one I created, it was one given to me, handed down by the same stars who the paved the way for us Kimberly.

You don’t care, I get it. It’s all about causing havoc “Stabby Stabby” and that nonsense. You already made mistake number one by having assumptions, you think you know Peyton Rice?

Just because I believe in doing your best and that will pay off in the end or my looks will be a detriment in the ring? Kimberly, just remember one thing when we are wrestling to see who will be in the finals of this tournament one more time; that the girl you think believes in a lie wasn’t just another “Pretty” Face….

She’s the one beating you, perfectly.”
